Event Management
Event Management was one of the most challenging modules. Involving working in groups to put on a real life event to raise money for charity. Distributing job rolls and tasking a team of 7 of us took on this challenge.
We wanted to raise money for the Fawcett Society, a charity supporting the rolls the women and empowerment. To raise money for this the team agreed on putting on an event in relation to the charity.
Raising money by bag packing, cake sales, clothes sales and speed dating this helped up to save the money for the venue , also being able to supply food and drink for the guest. The team has support from many companies such as, Asda , Morrison’s , New Look , Boots and Iceland by donating cakes , money , raffle prizes and sweets.
This module faced many challenges, such as promoting the event, selling tickets, getting clothes, models and guest speakers. The Event was held in Digbeth , with a talk from the charity , a Q&A with powerful business women , catwalk and a raffle. The raffle was a huge success and many companies had donated some wonderful prizes such as, LK bennet handbag, Spa days, Wine, Hampers, and Make – up and chocolate. Raising £600 for the charity the events module was a great success.
